SG-1 has changed the course of history and made the SGC virtually non-existent. Doctors Carter and Jackson have helped Brigadier General Hammond to find the Antarctic Stargate, but are not being allowed to help any further. They help Jack to power up the time machine, and he gets Hammond to allow them on the mission to Chulak to find Teal'c.

During this episode, the ship that Doctor Carter and Jackson fly on is a time traveling version of the Jumpers from Stargate Atlantis. When Stargate Atlantis first discovered the Jumpers, Doctor McKay and Lt. Aiden Ford tried to name them Gateship 1, 2, etc. However, Sheppard did not like the name and renamed them Puddlejumpers which was shortened to Jumpers. In this episode, Doctor McKay was able to successfully name the ship "Gateship" using the same logic that he tried in Atlantis ....."It's a ship that goes through the gate." See more
