Storyline

A group of nomads on an alien planet find Daniel Jackson naked in the middle of ruins and take him in. Jonas translates the tablet Daniel said was important and discovers that it describes the last city the Ancients were building before the plague. He surmises that the list of addresses Jack put into the computer while storing the Ancient data were Ancient outposts in temporal order. Thus the last of the addresses should be the "City of the Lost". SG-1 visits the planet and happens upon the nomadic people, now inhabiting the ruins of the Ancient city. There they find Daniel, but discover his memory is gone. They must recover his memories in order to discover the secret to defeating Anubis. Written by trekkie4christ

Trivia

The last scene of the opening credits had been of SG1 going into the activated gate, but this is the first time Daniel Jackson was in that scene since Revelations, the final episode of Season 5. See more »

Goofs

When O'Neill fires two AIM-120 missiles at Anubis' ship, he calls "Fox 4, 2 ". Fox 4 is an obsolete term for air-to-air or air-to-surface cannon fire. The call for firing active radar-guided missile such as the AIM-120 would be "Fox 3". See more »

Quotes

Anubis: You will suffer greatly.
Jonas Quinn: Yeah, I figured as much. Although, I am consoled by the fact that we succeeded in destroying the power source for your new weapon.
Anubis: You are in no position to gloat.
Jonas Quinn: We just wiped out your single advantage you had over the Goa'uld. I would say that that's about as good a reason as any.

GREAT first of the season episode
3 November 2006 | by sbieg-1See all my reviews

All I can think of as an excuse for writing shows like this, is that the actor wants more money, so the producers end the season, six in this case, in a way that makes it easy to just fire and replace said greedy actor.....that said, this is a VERY well written episode of a well established SiFi show. I am very happy the character "Jackson" was brought back from the dead, and continues as a main member of Star Gate One. It wouldn't be the same without him and his funny comments. Now if they can just get Col./Gen.Jack O'Neil on the show more often in more recent seasons....anyway, I digress; if you read this far you already know the show and all the sub-plots and story lines swirling through this episode. Lots of fun stuff going on here fans - a great way to start the new season, number seven....
