Storyline

Meadow and Jackie Aprile Jr. meet at a frat party and start taking an interest in one another. Tony and Ralphie Cifaretto are still feuding with Ralph refusing his offer to buy him a drink. The insult leads Tony to cancel their previous invitation to Thanksgiving dinner but Carmela's story about canceling dinner doesn't hold up for very long when Jackie Jr. shows up at the house to see Meadow. Carmela's not too keen on the two of them seeing each other. Ralph meanwhile goes to Johnny Sack to see if he could possibly switch families. He follows Johnny's advice and goes to Tony to apologize. When Gigi Cestone dies unexpectedly, Tony has to decide whether to make Ralph a capo. At Dr. Melfi's office, Tony runs into another of her patients, Gloria Trillo, a Mercedes salesperson. Tony decides to get himself a new car. Written by garykmcd

Quotes

Silvio Dante: [referring to Ralph's snubbing of Tony] "Another time, Anthony"?
Tony Soprano: Cocksucker turns his back on the boss?
Silvio Dante: That, I couldn't believe.
Tony Soprano: Lucky I didn't put one in his fuckin' head.
Silvio Dante: On that front, don't be surprised if Paulie pops the question. Raphie's star is rising. All those unions. Paulie can't come near that kind of cash for us.
Tony Soprano: Ralph's a good earner.
Silvio Dante: A guy like that? Loose cannon. He'll be leaving your house, he'll pull a "Jack Ruby" on you.
Tony Soprano: Why did I have to punch this fuckin' asshole?
Silvio Dante: Frankly, ...

Tony and Ralphie are at odds since Ralpie killed the stripper and Tony beat him in retaliation. Fearing a potential NYC/NJ gang skirmish, Johnny Sack convinces the crazier-than-ever Ralphie to apologize to Tony. In the middle of all this, a captain kicks the bucket Elvis-style and Tony ends up very reluctantly making Ralphie a captain. Ralphie meanwhile still talks about whacking Tony. Meadows gets it on with Jackie Jr, but manages to land herself in a world of hurt when she steals Jackie's car in a fit of pique. The tense interplay between Gandolfini and Joey P. is what makes the episode sing. Anything else in the episode is strictly filler.
