Storyline

When 72-year old Millicent Lockwood is found brutally beaten to death in a local park, the police immediately focus on a local who was seen arguing with her a short time earlier. The autopsy reveals little evidence but Sam Ryan once again refuses to make the evidence they do have fit the suspect, which leads to an inevitable clash with the police. She also sees two youths, Kelvin Price and Ben Quayle, act out part of the murder. The police however are pursuing other lines of inquiry and don't have the time, nor the inclination, to pursue Sam's theories. She then sets off on her own investigation. Written by garykmcd

A Brutal Murder
9 February 2019 | by HitchcocSee all my reviews

An elderly woman is brutally beaten and murdered off a path in the woods. Her skull is crushed and a bottle has been shoved in her mouth. The suspect is a disheveled alcoholic who often frequents the park. The woman was discovered by a couple boys who are real trouble. One of them is stunned by her death; the other shows off and jokes about it. Another figure is a young mentally handicapped boy who is frequently victimized by these other boys. At one point, the strip him and tie him to a tree in the woods. He has befriended the suspect because there is the promise of a puppy. Sam is involved in this case and a bit impatient with the police captain who is trying to pin this on the guy with no hard evidence. That seems to be a recurring theme in this show.
