Trivia

During the Weekend Update segment, Bill Murray talks about the upcoming Academy Awards. He discusses Aliens (1986) being nominated for Best Picture by saying: "_Aliens is a sequel, they never win... This is another reason why I probably won't do Ghostbusters II. The deep, deep fear that the Academy will not recognize my work." Murray did end up doing Ghostbusters II (1989) and did get recognized by the Academy with a nomination for Best Actor for Lost in Translation (2003). See more »

Alternate Versions

Three changes were made for the reruns: 1) In the "Nick The Lounge Singer In Prison" sketch, the word "bitch" muted, 2) In the "Donahue" sketch, Nora Dunn's line about a bad sexual experience with former cast member Joe Piscopo is replaced with one about 'Gallagher', 3) Phil Hartman stumbled during the introductory narration of the "Il Returno De Hercules" sketch during the live broadcast and is replaced with a narration by Al Franken.
