"Fire rhymes with liar!"

I love Jack and the Farting Dragon, because among other things, it starts on an offbeat note and only gets stranger from there! It begins with Jack discovering a grimy old medieval-esc village that is plagued by a famine brought on by a mysterious and terrible stench that periodically blasts out like a gaseous tidal wave across the land from the top of a nearby mountainous spire, and after meeting a half-crazy scissorsmith and learning of the people's plight, Jack agrees to help and scales the spire with some unexpected help from a freaky giant blue moth, he soon discovers a fearsome dragon that can talk and isn't interested in any battle because he doesn't mean to be tormenting the village with his explosive gas clouds, but is unable to control it due to a painful and mysterious case of very bad indigestion. Being the kind and heroic warrior he is, Jack decides this time to try and help the dragon out and enters the dragon's body through its mouth and embarks upon one of his most bizarre adventures yet! And that's when this awesome episode really comes to life, it's got loads of cool touches and funny moments, like when what the villagers consider to be a stink shelter is occupied by one very happy kitty, and how they throw the consistency regarding the dragon's size and dimensions right out the window the second Jack goes inside it, as well as to just how a male dragon has a baby inside it, well maybe he used some kind of magic on Jack, and who the heck knows what goes on when it comes to dragon reproduction! They got some top notch voice talent like Clancy Brown doing the deep resonant tones of the dragon, and the Cryptkeeper himself John Kassir as the suitably demented Scissorsmith. The best part of it for me is definitely the very weird trip through the bloodstream and digestive tract, it sounds gross but it's just very visually cool, and alien and different, and it added to overall roster of the show's many art styles. And the ending like most of the episode is subtly hilarious, with Jack basically having taken a horrible but tolerable situation and arguably making it considerably worse, and looking puzzled as he moves on and leaves the village to hopefully handle the rampaging baby dragon on its own... The whole thing is practicality one big fart joke but it has a wonderful tone that is both ridiculous and epic and I always found this one to be a terrifically fun and silly episode that's memorably odd! A most "Fantastic Voyage" indeed! X
