Goofs

When Rockford arrived at Barry Silverstein's office music was playing from the reel to reel tape deck and it was turned off. As Rockford was leaving, the camera panned past the tape machine and there was no reel of tape on it, even though no one ever went near the machine to remove the reel. See more »

Quotes

Jim Rockford: [sarcastically speaking of Clementi] I remember somebody saying that the corpses would be found near a body of water. This place is practically the Gobi Desert.
Roman Clementi: Sergeant? Mister Rockford?
[He points uphill toward a reservoir]
Jim Rockford: Are you kidding me? Water tanks don't count!

What would law enforcement do without psychics?

Robert Webber was a good friend of James Garner and he had him back on The Rockford Files in four different characters in five shows. Usually Webber played sleazebags whether here on other shows and movies. This is no exception as Webber plays a psychic consultant to the cops. Right now he's consulting with the LAPD on a missing persons case of a record company executive and his lady friend. A case that Jim Rockford has been working on so imagine his surprise that one fine morning he wakes up to the sound of people and machines digging up his beach.

Even Rocky thinks Webber is a three dollar bill based on his appearances on the Johnny Carson Show. Can't get more authoritative than that. But Noah Beery, Jr. after meeting the guy falls for his line. Only James Garner and Gretchen Corbett think he's a phony.

I'm not sure what James Luisi thinks but when Webber starts throwing suspicion toward Garner for the disappearance Lieutenant Chapman is just loving that. To save himself Garner has to solve the murders which of course is what it turns out to be.

Outstanding Rockford Files episode with great performances from the regulars and from Robert Webber.
