While playing in a seemingly deserted part of the local forest, little girl hears a woman screaming. Is she imagining it? Is it a ghost? No one believes her so she takes the matter into her own hands. Features Ray Bradbury in a cameo.
Heather Leary lives in the suburb and loves to read Tales from the Crypt. While walking through the woods near her house, she hears a woman screaming. Since she can't see anyone in the vicinity, she concludes that the scream is coming from below underground. She tells all about it to her skeptical parents but they believe it's just her vivid imagination. Heather sneaks out of her room in the middle of the night to find an ally and solve the mystery by herself..Written by

In the final scene when Heather is telling Dippy about mysterious mushrooms growing in a boy's basement, this is in reference to Ray Bradbury's classic short story, "Come Into My Cellar". The story was later adapted for the series as "Boys! Raise Giant Mushrooms In Your Cellar!" See more »
The setting for this looks a lot like the California neighborhood where E. T. came to Earth. That said, we have eleven year old Drew Barrymore, playing an impressionable girl who reads Tales from the Crypt and seek out adventure. One day, while biking through the woods, she hears screaming. It seems to be coming out of the ground. As is often the case, the adults are unable or unwilling to listen to her. She teams with a little slug of a male friend, who is too lazy to even dig. There is a red herring when the two of them are chased off the property by its owner. There are clues along the way. I think the only real point of contention I have is at the very end. If you watch this, ask yourself if the result would be realistic. Overall, it's pretty suspenseful but the acting is really bad.
