Hal, the Golfer
28 June 2017 | by JordanThomasHallSee all my reviews

Hal (David Doremus) is learning to play golf for the junior faculty tournament. He wishes to surprise his father, Professor Everett (Richard Long), by it, but is having difficulty. Nanny (Juliet Mills) mysteriously produces an antique golf club that belonged to her great uncle Harlan McTavish- a champion player at The Royal and Ancient Golf Club of St. Andrews. The club looks rough, but Hal instantly begins performing very well with it. At the opening round of the 21st Annual Faculty Match Play Tournament, Hal surprises his dad with his driving swing. Now, his father wants to teach him the other aspects, and has devoted the whole week to him in advance of the junior tournament. It becomes overwhelming for Hal to the point he calls to drop out of the tournament. Now, the professor sees he was trying to live through his son and sets out to make things right.
