Storyline

The team's mission is to locate the wristwatch of an undercover Federal Agent who went to get evidence against a gambling lord. It seems like the wristwatch is a camera and the agent may have photographed some evidence against the gambling lord and they were unaware of it when they killed him. Jim poses as a pool shark because the gambling lord is a major pool player. And he recruits Mimi King the ex of the lord's lieutenant who left her high and dry after she was arrested. Trivia

The explanation given to cover Lynda Day George's maternity leave from the series (namely that her character, Casey, was "on special assignment in Europe") was the only time that an IMF agent's absence was explained on-screen. Various regulars had departed or had had reduced roles over the years (including Steven Hill, who left after season 1; Martin Landau and Barbara Bain, who left after season 3; Leonard Nimoy and Lesley Warren who left after Season 5; and Peter Lupus, who alternated with Sam Elliot during much of season 5), but there was never any explanation given for their absences. Goofs

The circuit board that Barney attaches to the pool table for the guidance system has no component parts on it. Though every effort was made to try to hide the top side of the board, it can be seen briefly that it is blank and only has the circuit traces on the bottom. See more »

First Operation In Its Final Season
31 July 2019 | by Desertman84See all my reviews

"Mission:Impossible" is now on its seventh season. It starts its final season with the first episode entitled,"Break!".In it,the IMF once again deals with an organized crime involved in gambling. In it,we get to see the IMF maneuvers an mob henchman into leading them to a body of an agent he killed so that they can recover the microfilm full of evidence against his boss.

The first episode of the final season had a decent story about gambling operations. We also get to see a guest IMF members in Mimi Davis, who portrayed by Barbara Anderson, and Press Allen, who is portrayed by Robert Conrad.Their history as a team makes it interesting.
