Trivia

This marks the first time in the series (or any other series in the Law & Order franchise) that the detectives travel outside of the United States, as Munch, Fin and ADA Alexandra Cabot travel to Canada. It happens again in season four's Law & Order: Special Victims Unit: Pandora (2003) when Detective Stabler travels to Prague, Czech Republic and a third time occurs in season nineteen's Law & Order: Special Victims Unit: Gone Fishin' (2017), when Fin travels to Havana, Cuba. Goofs

An Army colonel would never refer to incarceration as 'the brig'; that is strictly a term used in the Coast Guard, Marine Corps and Navy. A military jail or prison is referred to as "the stockade" in the Air Force and Army. See more »

Quotes

Sarah Kimmel: Is he really here?
John Munch: We have a suspect, but we need a positive ID.
Sarah Kimmel: I can't.
John Munch: He won't be able to see you.
Sarah Kimmel: But I see him, every time I close my eyes. I leave my lights on at night or I'll see him staring at me from the shadows.
John Munch: He can't hurt you anymore.
Sarah Kimmel: I'm 28. I'm living on disability because I can't leave my house without falling apart. Don't tell me that he can't hurt me.
John Munch: I wouldn't ask you to do this unless I had to, but we think he's hurting somebody else.

Stone Cold and no remorse and no doubt of guilt
10 March 2013 | by bkoganbingSee all my reviews

R.E. Rodgers playing stone cold serial killer Darryl Kern is the kind of criminal for whom the death penalty is meant for. No remorse whatsoever, his killings planned like a military operation and no doubt of his guilt. In fact he takes pride in his work. But the escape of one of his potential victims sends the SVU squad into action.

This particular episode highlights Richard Belzer as he and Ice-T are the prime detectives with Benson and Stabler as backup. Before Kerns is done there are several bodies even after Munch and Fin are on the trail including an accomplice whom they had picked up and let go.

Rodgers is finally caught in Canada and with a little legal legerdemain Stephanie March argues before the Canadian courts for his extradition. I agree with Angie Harmon who had a similar incident involving a Canadian serial killer in Law And Order prime, who are the Canadians to tell us what to do with our criminals? Dan Frazer, the former Captain McNeil on Kojak was the Canadian justice. Quite a bit older, his voice was unmistakable.

Good episode and nice that Richard Belzer and Ice T took the lead spots for once.
