Storyline

After a rapist, Ray Schenkel, is released on parole, the detective that caught him, Dorsey, is sure that he'll revert to his old ways. When a rape occurs in New York, Dorsey talks to Stabler at the scene and convinces him that Schenkel was the perp. While investigating Schenkel, Stabler runs into him at the parole officer's office. He convinces Ray that he's a fellow parolee, and talks the PO into letting him into the group therapy session so that he can keep an eye on Ray. Stabler starts getting more deeply involved in Ray's new life, seeing if he's reformed or not, crossing the line between simple surveilence and entrapment on the way. Written by Tony B-4

Goofs

At the halfway house, Elliot clearly plays along in inciting Fin to arrest him, but moments later he seems very upset at Huang for "pulling him." Elliot had no way to know that he was going to get pulled and was just acting 'in character', which happened to give Fin the reason he needed to 'arrest' Elliot. Also, his reaction wasn't shown after Fin mentioned what was going on, as the scene changes to Huang's office, so he could have been upset the entire time. See more »

Quotes

[first lines]
Security Guard: [at Elmira Correctional Facility] Open the gate.
[Ray walks through the gate to Dorsey waiting at the trunk of his car with a drink]
William Dorsey: So they let 'cha out.
William Dorsey: [from afar, walking] 21 years, 5 months, and 3 days, but who's countin'. Thanks for comin', Dorsey.
William Dorsey: Wipe that smirk off your face, ya bastard.
Ray Schenkel: All these years, you still hate me. Hanging onto anger is really unhealthy.
[the men begin walking together]
William Dorsey: Your act may have fooled the parole board, but not me.
Ray Schenkel: You need to let go.

Idiocy
13 October 2018 | by siraljamesSee all my reviews

In a series of 20 seasons full of excellent episodes, oneust wonder who was responsible for this travesty. This has got to rank as the most contrived storyline ever. So...we just don't give a damn about the initial rape victim??? We'd rather play pretend-rapust and traumitize an innocent young girl for life and then say "You were never really in danger, I just wanted to prove I was right about this guy"??? And again...back to the top...We just refuse to find out who raped the young lady from the beginning if the episode? Isn't the episode about HER rape??? Dumb.
