Captain Parmalee's bad seed brother
19 December 2016 | by bkoganbingSee all my reviews

This Laredo story has the Texas Rangers after a notorious outlaw spotted in the Laredo vicinity played by Jack Kelly. But none of the Rangers know that in fact Kelly is Captain Parmalee's brother who he thought killed in the Civil War.

As it turns out Phil Carey's sister-in-law is visiting Laredo, she's now a doctor and on her way to a Choctaw Indian reservation to open a hospital there. She's kept that dirty little secret from Carey. Truth be told both brothers were after before the Civil War, she made the wrong choice.

Carey and Kelly have a superficial resemblance to each other, more of one than Kelly had with James Garner when Kelly was playing Bart Maverick. Helps with Kelly's performance. He's thoroughly the bad seed of the Parmalee family.

This episode was a bit more serious than most Laredo stories. Still pretty good.
