Slim and Mike are preparing to go fishing in a remote valley stream when they notice buzzards overhead. Slim finds a young woman, Nina Richards, severely injured so he sends Mike for help as she is too injured to move by horseback. Returning from gathering firewood, he is shot by the two men who kidnapped her. However, the bullet hit the firewood causing Slim to fall into the river and float away. He tracks the two men to a cave and captures them when they are all caught by the girl's rancher father and his hired hands. The father assumes that Slim is a member of the kidnappers and plans to have all three men hanged. Slim finds himself mistaken for the other dead kidnapper Collins killed by Genoway. Actually, the rancher's foreman is in league with the two kidnappers, one of whom, Jim Genoway, is a ruthless killer, the other a young man, Tad Henderson, who is in love with the girl and was beaten by her father, Owen, because of it, and wants to get even with him for his brutal methods. A chance to see such classic character actors as Barton MacLane, Jim Davis, and Claude Akins in one episode is never to be passed up. All three are in this episode involving the kidnapping of MacLane's daughter Joan Freeman.

Which John Smith kind of walks into when he finds an injured Freeman with Davis and Tommy Sands. Freeman and Sands were once an item, but MacLane made her break it off with Sands and he wants to pay the roughshod riding MacLane back.

But when MacLane and his foreman Claude Akins catch up with them they think Slim Sherman is one of the kidnappers. John Smith has to play it very cagey because he really has no friends here and Freeman just isn't sure that he couldn't be one of the gang.

Some of the plot situations are a bit much, but this fine cast puts this one over and smooths out the rough spots.
