Did You Know?

The fictional submarine here is USS Crawford (SSN-806). No such ship exists. However, there was once USS Crawford (SP-366), originally a commercial tugboat (as a property of the Erie Railroad Company), which became converted into a minesweeper, which thus served 1917-19. In the US Navy the submarine with the highest hull number is USS Delaware (SSN-791). See more »

When CDR Rabb is interviewing the Master Chief aboard ship, you see the Master Chief's name tag. First off, the Navy will not put MCPO on the name tag, it would be the Master Chief's Rate. BM, EN, MS, etc so the tag should have read DKCM, ENCM, MSCS, (or whatever the Master Chief's rate was) etc. NOT M.C.P.O. Also, the Navy does not use the periods. U.S.S. would be engraved USS on a name tag. The rank would not be M.C.P.O. or E.N.C.S it would be MCPO or ENCS. See more »

P.O. Jason Tiner: Sir, there's a dog in the hallway.
Adm. Albert Jethro 'A.J.' Chegwidden: Yes, she's with me.
Adm. Albert Jethro 'A.J.' Chegwidden: Come here, Damn it.
[Dog enters the room]
Adm. Albert Jethro 'A.J.' Chegwidden: Sit, Damn it.
[dog sits down. Tiner leaves and closes the door]
Cmdr. Harmon 'Harm' Rabb, Jr.: You named the dog, Damn it?
Adm. Albert Jethro 'A.J.' Chegwidden: The name kind of found itself.
Lt. Col. Sarah 'Mac' MacKenzie: Damn it?
