Did You Know?

To introduce the "Trained Horses" act, an insert shot is used showing the London Palladium programme being opened to the evening's bill: "Ricky Ricardo and Company". The cover is a drawing in Art Deco style, depicting dancers, a juggler, a strongman and other circus acts, a generic cover used in the mid-1930s for routine Variety Shows. When opened, the inside front cover (seen partially at the left of the screen) shows an advertisement for T.F. Nash Ltd. homes ("with garage") on offer in Eastcote, a community in the Western part of Greater London, now considered part of the Borough of Harrow. The "Nash Star" company logo can be seen to the right of the picture of one of the homes. See more »

Lucy marvels at the view from the balcony of their London hotel as the bellhop opens the curtains, revealing a cityscape featuring the West Front of St Paul's Cathedral, which looks to be a couple of blocks away. She asks the bellboy {Sam Edwards) where Buckingham Palace is, and he goes out onto the balcony and points to it. "Oh, Ricky", Lucy gushes, "We can see it from here!" The problem is that St Paul's, in the City of London, is about 2.5 miles from Buckingham Palace, in the City of Westminster, and there is virtually no location where one could see the Palace and have St Paul's West Front just a couple of blocks away. If nothing else, when looking at St Paul's West Front, the Palace would be (miles) behind you. See more »
