Kimo and Truck are sent to a remote location to help a scientist who is investigating several mysterious deaths by inhalation. Before long, Truck also shows signs of illness which he attributes to unknowingly violating a native curse (actually, in a subplot, we learn that he had been exposed to plutonium on a previous assignment). The attractive doctor and Kimo hit it off, which makes both of them targets for the murderer, who is secretly harvesting coral from offshore and selling it. Written by Peter Harris

When Kimo chases the murderer along a beach, a short segment of the film is used in the main titles for his credit (it freeze-frames as he suddenly moves sideways, distorting his picture). See more »

When the Five-0 members had just arrived in the helicopter and were outside of it, they were standing towards the rear of the helicopter dangerously close to the spinning tail rotor. This is a no-no and the worst place to be when the helicopter is running. See more »

Not great.

Once again, "Hawaii Five-O" invokes the supernatural for a plot--and it seemed to happen quite a bit during the last two years of the series. In this case, two young people die on a remote Hawaiian island and the local kahuna (like a medicine man) says there can be no autopsy. Before the local doctor (Cathy Lee Crosby) can get an order to do this, the family and kahuna bury the couple at sea. Later, another dies and the kahuna says it's because of a kapu--a curse. When Truck and Carew investigate, Truck is threatened with the kapu--and soon appears to be dying! Can Carew and the doctor manage to figure out what really is going on and who is responsible?

This episode is not stellar--and it's not just because of the kapu mumbo-jumbo. If you think about it, the murder method is ridiculously complicated and silly. Plus, you KNOW who the baddie is if you've seen the show regularly because the guy playing the murderer ALWAYS plays evil people. As soon as I saw him, I just knew it was him!!
