Storyline

Marshall and Simon witness a homeless man being attacked by a woman with a ray gun and decide to help him out. Although the man mumbles nonsense and seems fascinated by electronics, the boys suspect that there's more to him than that and perhaps he's not as crazy as everyone believes. But things get really weird when they turn on the strange contraption the man was making. Written by Phil G

Trivia

This episode is an extended critique of (allegedly) brainless people in American politics. The script mentions a number of Republicans of the early 1990s. Marshall and Simon find a "Bush/Quayle 88" bumper sticker in a homeless man's shopping cart, prompting Marshall to quip, "Well, at least we know he's not a liberal." Later, we hear that Eunice Danforth once negotiated a multi-million-dollar plot orchestrated by Ed Meese to steal the 1980 election "by pumping MacGyver's brain into Ronald Reagan, thereby quadrupling his IQ." Edgar Teller: Now come on. I've heard rumors he was Eerie's last living Liberal, but...
Simon Holmes: What's a Liberal?
Edgar Teller: [suddenly uncomfortable] I'll explain it to you when you're older.
Marilyn Teller: Well, I don't care if he's a Liberal or an axe murderer, I want you two boys to stay...
