Police captain William Boone is preparing the security at a speech by Companion Da'an, a Taelon. They came to Earth three years ago and helped mankind a great deal. Hunger is gone and numerous diseases have been exterminated. Da'an is to sign an agreement with multinational Jonathan Doors to develop technology. Boone isn't happy however. FBI agent Ronald Sandoval has changed his plans and he is worried. He's right, in an attempted murder on Da'an Doors gets killed. He finds out the murder was committed by his old friend Eddy Jordan. When Da'an asks him to join his security team, he respectfully declines. He tells he wants to settle down with his wife Kate, but in reality he doesn't trust anyone who's motives are unknown.
