Himself - Host
It was not so long ago, fifty years or so, that much of America was still frontier country. There were only a few big cities; it was still a nation of townships, villages and farms, many of them only recently claimed from forest and plains. From this latter-day frontier, from the tales still told by our own parents and grandparents, has come a rich and glowing treasure of childhood memories. Now, our story begins in this era, in a place called Pike County, Indiana.
