The last time we saw Danny Ocean's crew, they were paying back ruthless casino mogul Terry Benedict after stealing millions from him. However, it's been a while since they've come back together, which is all about to change. When one of their own, Reuben Tishkoff, builds a hotel with another casino owner, Willy Bank, the last thing he ever wanted was to get cut out of the deal personally by the loathsome Bank. Bank's attitude even goes so far as to finding the amusement in Tishkoff's misfortune when the double crossing lands Reuben in the hospital because of a heart attack. However, Danny and his crew won't stand for Bank and what he's done to a friend. Uniting with their old enemy Benedict, who himself has a vendetta against Bank, the crew is out to pull off a major plan; one that will unfold on the night Bank's newest hot spot opens up. They're not in this for the money, but for the revenge.Written by
Matt Damon's character disguises himself by wearing a large nose. Cyrano de Bergerac was both a historical figure and the subject of a famous play, and was well known for having a large nose. George Clooney's uncle, Jose Ferrer, played Cyrano, as did Vincent Cassel's father, Jean-Pierre Cassel. See more »
Livingston getting busted by the "FBI" was not planned by the crew; Livingston specifically requests this be kept secret from the rest of the crew. When he is arrested and Willy Bank decides to test his fingerprints for known associates, the crew is surprised and Basher is forced to impersonate an stuntman to distract Bank. If the bust was planned, the crew should have planned for Bank to test the fingerprints (or they should have used gloves when handling the equipment). Livingston had secretly enlisted the help of Roman Nagel (Eddie Izzard) and Agent Caldwell (Bob Einstein). See more »
The thing about these kind off movies is that when the plot get hyped up, that's when it gets slowed down. So the momentum is not consistent which is why I sat at the edge of my seat during this movie.
Al Pacino did well for his part as Willy Bank. Any role given to him, will be done flawlessly. The casting for the Ocean's series is as usual, excellent. People might think that this is a flop, simply because they compare it to the first movie. If you do not like, slow and draggy movies, and all you want is action packed crap with explosions and fireworks, O13 will offer you very less of that. The slow pace of this movie has its reason because it is the calm style the director wants to put in.
Comedy...is maturely done and I was laughing out loud because of its precise delivery.
All in all, Ocean's Thirteen may not be as good as the first movie, but its a good way to walk around with style.
