The Last Thing He Wanted Trailer Teams Ben Affleck & Anne Hathaway in New Netflix Thriller

  • MovieWeb
Netflix has revealed a new trailer for The Last Thing He Wanted. This looks to be a prestigious thriller, as it's directed by Dee Rees and features a pair of A-list stars in the lead with Ben Affleck and Anne Hathaway. Plus, it's set to make its debut at the Sundance Film Festival next week, which adds a little more fuel to the fire. Looking purely at the trailer, it looks to be a twisty, tense ride in the seedy underworld of arms dealing.

The trailer shows us Anne Hathaway, who plays an investigative journalist, and Ben Affleck who is clearly not on her side, in the middle of some shady arms deals. There are some shady dealings going on and Hathaway puts herself at risk to scope out the situation. Things get complicated when her dad ends up mixed up in all of this. It looks to be a

Quentin Tarantino to Make Once Upon a Time in Hollywood Spinoff TV Series

David Crow Jan 17, 2020

Once Upon a Time in Hollywood might be over, but the adventures of Bounty Law’s Jake Cahill have only just begun!

Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, Quentin Tarantino made one of the best movies of 2019 by channeling his deep and affection for 1960s Hollywood into a grand epic of nostalgia daydreaming. The film, mistaken initially by many to be about the “Manson murders,” was instead a laconic hangout dramedy, led by washed up TV Western star Rick Dalton (Leonardo DiCaprio), who was famous 10 years prior for playing Jake Cahill on Bounty Law. Now that legend of Cahill will live on past Once Upon a Time… in Hollywood’s wistful closing shot.

Speaking with Deadline while in the midst of the Oscars campaign season, Tarantino revealed that while imagining a fictional ‘50s TV Western for Rick Dalton to star in—think Steve McQueen on Wanted: Dead

Quentin Tarantino Will Write and Direct All 5 Bounty Law TV Episodes
Quentin Tarantino is only going to make ten movies before he calls it quits, but that doesn't mean he won't find other ways to keep himself busy. Case in point, we learned last year that the filmmaker had plans to turn the fake western TV show Bounty Law from his movie Once Upon a Time in Hollywood into a real thing. Now, Tarantino has offered an update, saying that he intends to direct all of the episodes himself. Though, it may be a while before he gets around to it.

Recently, Once Upon a Time in Hollywood was nominated for ten Oscars, including Best Picture. With that, Quentin Tarantino made the press rounds a bit again, as he surely will be leading up to the Academy Awards. During a recent interview, he was asked about the status of Bounty Law and if he intends to do something with the scripts he's written.

Wylie Stateman (‘Once Upon a Time in Hollywood’ sound editor) on letting music set the tone for audio design [Exclusive Video Interview]
Supervising sound editor Wylie Stateman explains that Quentin Tarantino‘s process “is really about working with music, and allowing that to inform” his filmmaking. That’s especially true of “Once Upon a Time in Hollywood,” which the director imagined as being “set to music” throughout. Watch our exclusive video interview with Stateman above.

Set in 1969 Hollywood, the Sony release follows the adventures of a TV actor (Leonardo DiCaprio) and stunt double (Brad Pitt) whose lives fatefully intersect with the Manson Family. “The music really sets a voice for the film that’s critical in setting the period,” says Stateman of the immersive soundtrack. “We worked around that and gave design elements a chance to bring in music, bring out music, or just fill the gaps where a song wouldn’t have been appropriate.”

With Shows Like ‘Live Pd,’ Paul Buccieri Brings A+E Networks Back to Its Roots

With Shows Like ‘Live Pd,’ Paul Buccieri Brings A+E Networks Back to Its Roots
“Live ‘Cops.’ ”

That was the shorthand pitch-in-the-hallway that intrigued A+E Networks executive Paul Buccieri enough to respond with an immediate yes.

At the time, Buccieri, 53, was about two years away from being promoted to the top job at A+E Networks, the cable programming group jointly owned by Disney and Hearst. He didn’t know then that “Live Pd” would be the show to turn around the fortunes of A&e Network, one of the three pillars of the company that’s also home to cablers History and Lifetime.

But Buccieri did know that there was a void in the marketplace for a high-octane law enforcement reality show. He’d overseen the production budget for “Cops” during his run as president of programming for Fox’s Twentieth Television. He saw potential to develop a next-generation iteration of the seminal reality franchise. Producer Dan Cesareo of Big Fish Entertainment pitched a bold
