Trivia

The film's concept came to directors Abbas-Mustan while watching the detective thriller Chinatown (1974). This film is thus partly based on and partly a tribute to that film. See more »

Goofs

When K.K. & Ruby (Johnny Lever and Tanaaz Currim respectively) are trying to get rid of Sonia's (Isha Koppikar) dead body with the train journey by getting the porter to wrongfully place the bag containing the dead body in a different train than the one they would be travelling in, it is seen that the porter manages to throw the bag back to them through the window of the 1st Class AC compartment they are escaping in. However, none of Indian Railways' AC compartments have windows without the toughened glass, making such a scenario impossible. See more »

Thriller or Comedy ?
8 May 2006 | by amit_sinha62See all my reviews

36 China Town is a famous casino in Goa . Isha Koppikar as Sonia Chang is the heiress of this casino and gets a piece of hatred from many people in casino for certain reasons .The plot involves of many characters who are connected with each other through a common thread. They all went to 36 China Town on the night of murder of Sonia Chang. The film starts well, but poor editing slows the pace of movie. It seems as if the Directors missed the editing part. Unwanted songs are big nuisance and that too at time when the film can be gripping. The only respite is comedy by Johny lever which acts as the highlight of the film. But even some time the comedy becomes irritating like showing Paresh Rawal in bare minimum.I could hear comments like "aiyo Rama" from girls on seeing Paresh in his bare minimum. Akshay khanna is good and natural as the investigating officer but poor script makes the suspense looks so ordinary . upen patel is decent in his movie but he needs to really prove himself which he is unable to do in this movie. He is no doubt good looking but needs to hone his acting skills. Overall the film fails to grip the audience and is going to be one of the biggest setback of this year.
