"The Dumb Bunnies" was an animated series where, as the saying goes, "anything can happen - and it usually does." The Bunnies did the direct opposite of the normal course of action (e.g. they put on winter coats in the summertime to protect themselves from the sun), and they often didn't use their heads when they first saw something unfamiliar (e.g. the Bunnies thought the revolving door to the local museum was a kind of carnival ride the museum offered as an added attraction). The Bunnies also had some adversaries in their next-door neighbors, The Uppitys (a family of normal and well-to-do rabbits), and Sly Fox, the local con artist, but somehow the Bunnies managed to outwit them in their own naive way. Did You Know?

After one year of unsuccessfully experimenting with a slate of all-live-action children's shows ("The Weird Al Show" was the only bona fide hit during those last 12 months), CBS returned to a Saturday morning lineup of animated series in October 1998, supplemented by "The Saturday Early Show". This show was one of the first programs CBS aired when it returned to an all-animated Saturday morning lineup. See more »

A new Lewis Carrol is born...and he's dumb !
23 August 2007 | by brooterSee all my reviews

"The Dumb Bunnies" was released in France, where I seen it, in 2000 to 2001. I never missed one episode when I discovered what a mad logician has drawn under Alison Snowden and David Fine influence.

I will never show such a thing to my children's, not because it's shocking, but because it's probably very boring for a child : they will not understand what those pieces of colors are doing on the screen, spreading strange noises that sound like words... But for an adult person, it's like poetry ! Alexander Ptuschko, Karel Zeman or Starewitch wouldn't blame me.

And if someone tells you about its vulgarity, believe it : it's churlish, boorish, offensive and smutty. But it can be an Art !
