Godzilla Animated Movie Title, Story, Poster and Art Unveiled
Back in January, fans got their first look at Toho's first ever Godzilla anime movie, which is slated for release in Japan later this year. Earlier this month, Netflix picked up the streaming rights to this movie, which will be released theatrically in Japan before debuting worldwide on the popular streaming service. Today we have a new poster for this highly-anticipated anime movie, which doesn't give us a glimpse at Godzilla himself, but we do get to to see this futuristic world. We also have new concept art and the official synopsis.

The last summer of the 20th century. On that day, the human race realized that they were not the only ruler of the planet earth. The emergence of gigantic monsters "kaiju" and the ultimate existence that even can destroy the kaijus, Godzilla. After half-century of the war against the kaijus, the human race repeatedly defeated and decided to escape from the earth.

New Godzilla Anime Coming from Netflix & Toho

In recent years, monster fans have heard the mighty roar of the radioactive reptile, and the King of the Monsters shows no signs of slowing down, as Netflix and Toho are now teaming up for a new anime Godzilla project.

The Godzilla anime will be released globally on Netflix after a Japanese theatrical release via Toho. An exact release date and trailer have not yet been revealed, but you can check out concept art from the anime below, via the official site.

009 Re:cyborg First Trailer (Sub)

Anime distributor Anime Limited is currently working with studio Nyav Post for a English dub release in the 4Q 2013. Cyborg 009 (サイボーグ 009 Saibōgu Zero-Zero-Nain?) is a 1964 manga created by Shotaro Ishinomori. In the original manga story, nine regular humans are kidnapped by the evil Black Ghost organization to undergo human experiments which resulted in nine cyborgs with each one having super human powers. The nine cyborgs band together to fight for their freedom and to stop Black Ghost. The evil organization's goal is to start the next world war by supplying rich buyers with countless weapons of mass destruction. Archaia has announced a reimagining of classic manga Cyborg 009. The publisher will team with Japan's Ishimori Productions on a reboot of Shotaro Ishinomori's sci-fi tale. Fj DeSanto (The Spirit) and Bradley Cramp (Gattaca) will write the new origin tale with Red Robin and Huntress artist Marcus To. Cyborg 009 centres around nine unwilling people who are kidnapped by the sinister Black Ghost Organisation and transformed into living weapons. Watch Mamoru Oshii's Cyborg 009

The director of the classic Ghost In The Shell has been quiet of late, his output over the past couple years being largely limited to short films which have not traveled widely. But here's an exception. Oshii recently helmed an animated adaptation of Shotaro Ishinomori's manga Cyborg 009 with backing from Panasonic and the film has since been released online in its entirety.Frankly it's not Oshii's most inventive work, with several shots lifted directly from previous efforts, but Oshii is still Oshii and it's worth a look.
