This was my issue with the movie - the plot simply did not make sense. And I own it on DVD, and have seen it multiple times.
I don't want to spoil the movie by explaining why it does not make sense. But, in my mind, it doesn't. It almost makes sense, but there's issues with it.
The visuals are good. The acting is so-so. I watch it now and again, because I enjoy the ride, I guess.
I think others may as well, so I give it 5/10.
If you want to see a better "long con" movie, so to speak, I highly recommend Lucky Number Slevin (Not Ocean's 12 :) If you want to see a movie for pool, Color of Money is probably the best (not realistic, but at least you see a fair amount of it.) Pool Hall Junkies is tolerable, but steals heavily from C.O.M. This movie sort of goes it's own way, and while the plot revolves around pool, you won't see a lot of it played.
The Hustler is probably the best movie featuring pool, but it's not about pool at all (it's about character and redemption, IMO.)
