Storyline

Young Mr. Newlywed dearly loves his wife but he longs for a night at the club, so he has the boy send a telegram calling him to an important business conference. He hurries to the club where a swallowtail has been provided for him and he assists at a farewell bachelor dinner. Next door to him live two spinster sisters of uncertain age who are attending a suffragette meeting. A strenuous debate is before the members and they pay no heed to the hour. At last Mr. Newlywed finds that the lobster salad disagrees with him and there is too much brandy in the plum pudding sauce and he has to be helped into a cab and the driver starts home with him. The night is dark and Newlywed gets into the spinsters' house and travels laboriously up the stairs, leaving mementos in the shape of shoes and other articles of apparel at every step. He tumbles wearily into the spinsters' bed and is soon asleep. The spinsters see it is three o'clock and start home and are horrified to see the shoes and other ...
