Dorothy's 'Wizard of Oz' ruby red slippers to go up for auction. If I only had the funds!

Dorothy's 'Wizard of Oz' ruby red slippers to go up for auction. If I only had the funds!
With Halloween but a few weeks away from us, it’s time to start considering your costume. If you’re sticking with the oldie, but always goodie, choice of going as Dorothy from The Wizard of Oz, your get-up could be the most authentic one on any road, yellow brick or otherwise.

That’s because one of the pairs of the iconic ruby red slippers worn by Judy Garland in the 1939 classic, will be sold to the highest bidder on Dec. 16 (okay, so you’ll have them for next Halloween) during Profiles in History’s three-day “Icons of Hollywood” auction.

Comic-Con 2009: Who's In?

With the schedule for San Diego Comic-Con ever so slowly making its way onto the official website (Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday are now up), I thought I'd ask once again this year: who's in for Comic-Con 2009? Passes are once again impossible to purchase at this year's festival (with no on-site registration available for professions or press, no less), which boasts a lineup that includes panels for such series as Lost, True Blood, Chuck, Doctor Who, Flash Forward, V, Torchwood, 24, Bones, The Mighty Boosh, Eureka, Caprica, The Prisoner, Human Target, Dollhouse, Fringe, Psych, Stargate Universe, Smallville, Supernatural, Burn Notice, Robot Chicken, and a host of others. (Seriously, the list goes on and on this year.) For my part, I'll be covering as many panels and press rooms as humanly possible and reporting from the convention as long as the WiFi connection holds. (My must-see panels this year: Lost, Caprica/BSG,

Icons and Idols Party the Night Away at the Chateau

The night didn't end with Kanye's post-VMAs performance as the stars headed out to the after parties. The girls of The Hills posed together at the Paramount Studios bash before Audrina headed to InTouch Weekly's Icons and Idols party at Chateau Marmont. The Veronicas, Leona Lewis and Good Charlotte all hit the stage performing fun sets for the packed room. We were lucky enough to be there and have some great sightings like the girls of 90210, Dave Annable from Brothers and Sisters and even Ryan Phillippe who stayed covert in his favorite hat. Downstairs, Samantha Ronson spun while Lindsay Lohan topped off her very busy weekend — Fashion Week to Toronto to the VMAs — sitting on the booth right next to her girl chatting with friends and looking hot wearing a very revealing halter top. The Veronica's kicked things off great but it was Leona Lewis who got the crowd excited.
