Blasting Nazis left and right in an attempt to assassinate Hitler and escape from Castle Wolfenstein. In the game that started the 3-D shooter craze which led to the huge successes DOOM, Quake, Turok, Duke Nukem 3-D, etc, you play an American P.O.W. trying desperately to escape from the Nazi prison Wolfenstein during World War II. Locked doors must be opened, puzzles must be solved and gallons of blood must be spilled in order to complete your violent objectives: to both escape from behind enemy lines and take down the Fuehrer in the process.

E2M8 is impossible to complete with 100% in all categories due to there being a push-wall maze on the maps that was intended to be part of a contest where you searched for a sign asking you to "call apogee and say Aardwolf" but the contest was aborted when the game came out. some later versions of the game give codes at the high score table as part of another aborted contest.
