Kelsey Grammer says six Frasier spinoff concepts are under consideration

Last summer it was reported that Kelsey Grammer is looking to put together a spinoff/continuation of the Emmy Award-winning comedy series Frasier, with the star and producer going on to confirm that he was actively meeting with writers in an effort to come up with a suitable concept for the proposed revival.

We’ve heard little in the way of updates since then, but appearing on the UK talk show Lorraine, Grammer has revealed that the potential series remains very much alive, and they actually have six different concepts under consideration.

“That little folder is filled with six different ideas that are all in contention for what may be the new Frasier,” said Grammer. “A continuation of Frasier. They’re similar, it’s a new life, in a new city. Of course, John Mahoney died so you’d need to replace that energy, perhaps like they did on Cheers with Coach,

Watch Julia Roberts geek out over Olivia Colman and her ‘wonderful’ Oscar win
Emma Stone is indisputably the biggest Olivia Colman fangirl, but Julia Roberts could give her a run for her money. The Oscar winner is longtime Colman admirer and was “absolutely thrilled” when she took home the Best Actress Oscar for “The Favourite.”

“She’s so fantastic,” Roberts gushed to the UK’s ITV show “Lorraine” while promoting “Ben Is Back,” revealing that she got tongue-tied when they met. “I actually had the good fortune of meeting her briefly, kind of getting a couple of words out of my mouth towards her at the Golden Globes. And I loved ‘The Favourite’ and I was just absolutely thrilled when she won.”

Roberts watched Colman’s surprise victory from backstage at the Oscars as she was preparing to present Best Picture. She even Instagrammed a shot of Colman mid-speech, writing, “I [heart] Olivia!” And this love affair is indeed pure. “Well, who doesn’t [love her]?” she quipped.

Critics Pan ‘Fifty Shades Freed’ as Safe and Expected: ‘The Fleshy Franchise Can Finally Go’
The third film sired from author E.L. James’ original “Fifty Shades” trilogy arrives in theaters Friday, and critics are largely miffed that Universal Pictures opted for such a conventional closure. “Fifty Shades Freed” begins with the marriage of Anastasia Steele (Dakota Johnson) and Christian Grey (Jamie Dornan), the billionaire who introduced her to Bdsm. IndieWire was kinder than most, giving chapter three a B.

“Because Ana and Christian have already reached their happy equilibrium together, returning director James Foley and screenwriter Niall Leonard must mine exterior sources of dramatic strain,” writes Screen Daily. Thus the narrative of their sexual power struggle is supplanted by thrown punches, racing sports cars, and even a kidnapping subplot. Still, reviewers were often disenchanted that the Greys have become just another procreating couple occupied with household concerns.

Mark Gatiss Reveals What Role He Wants To Play In His Dracula TV Series

With Sherlock on indefinite hiatus and the pair moving away from Doctor Who, Steven Moffat and Mark Gatiss will next be devoting their energies into modernizing another British classic in their upcoming Dracula TV series.

Everything about the duo’s interpretation of the oft-adapted tale of the world’s most famous vampire is currently being kept tightly under wraps. For instance, we don’t know anything about the format, the cast or whether it will follow Sherlock and be set in contemporary times or if it will stick with the Victorian setting of Bram Stoker’s novel.

However, Mark Gatiss might have given us our first clue about the project in the form of who he might play in it. While talking on UK daytime talk show Lorraine, Gatiss explained that he’s not sure if he’s going to act in Dracula as well as write it. But, if he does,

Long-Time Doctor Who Scribe Mark Gatiss Not Involved In Season 11

True to the old adage of one door opening just as another begins to close, this year’s Doctor Who Christmas Special, “Twice Upon a Time,” will herald the beginning of a “whole new era.”

At least, that’s according to long-time screenwriter Mark Gatiss (Sherlock), who is poised to appear as a Wwi soldier known only as ‘The Captain’ in the imminent festive treat. While appearing on ITV chat show Lorraine (with a tip of the hat to Digital Spy), Gatiss previewed Jodie Whittaker’s first appearance as the Time Lord, before hinting that he has no involvement in season 11, which will see current showrunner Steven Moffat hand over the keys to Chris Chibnall.

It’s fantastic. What I love about this, I love the costume – I call it ‘Godspell chic’. It’s got a lovely early ’70s feel to it, which I really like. I think it’s a fantastic choice,

Meghan Mania! Meghan Markle Joins Harry for Their First Royal Work Day Together — and the Crowds Went Wild
Meghan sparkle is already working its magic!

Markle mania gripped an English town on Friday when Prince Harry and fiancée Meghan Markle embarked on their first official royal outing as a couple.

Four days after announcing their royal engagement, the pair visited Nottingham, about 125 miles north of London, where they started their day greeting enthusiastic fans in the town center.

The couple arrived to cheers from the crowds outside the National Justice Museum. Meghan, in an ankle-length navy coat, often put her arm on Harry’s back as they walked slowly down the barriers.

While the two were greeting the crowds,

Fergie is back on the music scene with her new album, Double Dutchess. But like many working moms, she has dealt with her fair share of guilt while balancing parenthood and a career.

“It’s the worst,” admitted the 42-year-old pop singer of the guilt she feels during a Friday visit to ITV’s Lorraine.

Fergie shares 4-year-old son Axl Jack with Josh Duhamel, whom she split from earlier this year after eight years of marriage.

“I remember going to the studio the first couple of times and sobbing in the car. It was the weirdest thing ever,” she adds.

Jodie Whittaker’s Casting Can Help “Reinvent” Doctor Who

It’s going on 12 years since Christopher Eccleston bid farewell to Doctor Who, but it seems the English thesp still has a strong opinion on the BBC’s sci-fi flagship.

As reported by Digital Spy, Eccleston recently swung by ITV chat show Lorraine to discuss Doctor Who, a series that he believes was in dire need of a shakeup prior to the casting of Jodie Whittaker, the first female Time Lord. The actor also called out the BBC for playing it safe, given all other incarnations of the Doctor have been played by “skinny white men.”

The advent of the 13th Time Lord changes all that (thank heavens!), and Christopher Eccleston believes the BBC could not have chosen someone better than the incoming Jodie Whittaker.

Hurrah! The BBC have gone as far as they can with skinny white men, I think. It’s time, isn’t it? It had to change,

It's finally here! The Labour Day weekend isn't really the end of summer, but it certainly feels that way. Maybe it's the residual instinct ingrained in us after years of elementary and high school, when summertime meant freedom from school for a full two months and September meant the end of all that and the return to teachers, books, and (ugh) homework.

No matter how you feel about the holiday, there's still lots of ways to squeeze the most fun possible out of your extra day off! And what better way to while away an afternoon than with a movie at a Cineplex theatre. Without further ado, here's our recommendations for what to see in theatres this long weekend!

Movie Review – Atomic Blonde (2017)

Atomic Blonde, 2017.

Directed by David Leitch.

Starring Charlize Theron, James McAvoy, Eddie Marsan, John Goodman, Toby Jones, Bill Skarsgard, and Sofia Boutella.

Synopsis:

An undercover MI6 agent is sent to Berlin during the Cold War to investigate the murder of a fellow agent and recover a missing list of double agents.

Following on from Furiosa in Mad Max: Fury Road, Charlize Theron is now beating the crap out of a ton of people on David Leitch’s Atomic Blonde. Theron’s reinvention as an action star has been fascinating to watch and Atomic Blonde is great if you want an enjoyable spy movie with a strong female lead who can go toe to toe with anyone she comes up against.

The plot is a little convoluted to say the least but Theron is Lorraine Broughton; an undercover MI6 agent who’s sent to Berlin just before the wall is due to fall.

Incoming Doctor Who Actress Jodie Whittaker Gives Thanks To “Wonderful” Fan Base

Amid the whirlwind of landing the role of a lifetime, something that reduced the former Broadchurch actress to tears, incoming Doctor Who star Jodie Whittaker has taken a moment to give thanks to the show’s “loyal” and “wonderful” fan base.

While appearing on ITV chat show Lorraine (via DoctorWho.tv) to promote her new drama series, Trust Me, it wasn’t long before Whittaker began fielding questions on both Doctor Who‘s Christmas Special, “Twice Upon a Time,” and the upcoming season 11, which is expected to light up BBC One in the latter stages of 2018.

That festive treat will see Peter Capaldi’s Time Lord reluctantly join forces with the original Doctor, before the show’s iconic regeneration process leaves the Tardis open for Jodie Whittaker to enter the fray and make Doctor Who her own. That transitional period is something the actress touched on during her interview with Lorraine,

Atomic Blondes of Film and TV

This week Charlize Theron heads up Atomic Blonde. Set in 1980’s Berlin, the film tells the story of Lorraine Broughton, an MI6 agent tasked with tracking down a highly sought after list of double agents. It’s a neon-soaked, action-noir thriller directed by David Leitch, one half of the John Wick directing dream team. Lorraine is a lady who knows how to handle herself. With Charlize channelling her inner Keanu, the old co-stars actually trained together; she demonstrates that she can most definitely hold her own. She’s not the first kick-ass blonde to grace our screens though, and it got us thinking about our other favourite atomic blondes…

He-Man

Potentially the first atomic blond, Dolph Lundgren burst onto the scene in the 1980’s with back-to-back roles in A View to a Kill and Rocky IV. However, in these films he’s a supporting player. In order for him to
