Two young men. David Donneley and James Burns, are partners in business. They fall in love with two charming girls, but business goes bad, reverses come unexpectedly and the firm is thrown into involuntary bankruptcy. Their fickle and faithless sweethearts, when they hear the news of this, break their marriage engagements with the boys. In the Northwest, where the boys have gone, their canoe is caught in a whirlpool and in a half dead condition they escape and make their way to the home of an old prospector. The old man's blind daughter welcomes them, as her father is absent, working night and day in his secret mine. He does not return that evening and the boys start out in search of him. To their horror they discover his mangled body in a lonely canyon. News of her father's death is broken gently to the blind girl. They plan to restore her eyesight. A noted specialist, a friend of the boys, is called from the city. He examines the girl, and is performing the most delicate operation ...
