After an evening at the fair, a mom and her son (Jess is about 10 years old) stop for petrol on their way home. Jess fills the gas tank and then gets in the back seat. She leaves the keys in the SUV and goes into the mini-mart for snacks. Two carjackers have been watching the car; one goes into the market to block the door while the other jumps in the SUV and drives off, Jess in the back seat. The mom runs from the store and commandeers the accomplice to give chase. Mother, son, and the thieves are in pairings that must end badly for someone.Written by
This film is riveting from the first scene. The cinematography is superb. Set at night at a gas station, the mood is established from the outset. Something bas is going to happen--you don't know when, and when it does, you don't know how it will all turn out.
Viva la short--this is why shorts can be so much fun. The acting is superb and the sound design is terrific.
This film sports the quality of a veteran, action director.
Tight script that lets the action breathe.
The movie was screened at the prestigious Edinburgh film festival and before a packed crowd had the audience gasping. Nooshin is a comer.
