Storyline

"The Sims" is a close up look at a family of Will Wright's critically acclaimed "Sim City" series. In this game you create a family of "Sims" and build a house for them on the lot they are put on. As the game progresses, your Sims lives take a turn for better or worse. You get jobs and earn money, buy equipment to increase your skills, make friends with other Sims, fall in love and get married and ultimately have a bouncing baby Sim. However, disasters do strike in the Sim world; pipes can burst and start floods, fires can break out and burn up things, you can get robbed by burglars, and if not properly taken care of; your Sims can starve to death. The game includes many real-life aspects as realistically as possible. Who knows? Maybe your Sims will finally be able to buy that Plasma Vision Widescreen TV some day... Written by jondaman816

Completely Amazing.
8 September 2002 | by The-Flaming-PigSee all my reviews

This game is just amazing and incredible at the same time. You can do whatever you dreamed to do. But, No Gore! Why can't they have murderes come into the house (Burglars come, but no Murderers), They cant go to the hospital or accidentally break their arms or get them chopped off by a ham sandwich. Anyway, astounding gameplay, had me hooked from the start, suprising since my arsenal happens to be mostly FPS (First Person Shooter), RTS (Real-Time Strategy) War Games, Gory Platform games, 3-rd Person Shooters, RPG (Role-Playing Game)s like Diablo and Diablo 2 and of course, my beloved Fighting Games. Get this game. I told all my friends and they all bought it and are also hooked. I have all expansions except Vacation and Unleashed, into one game. It's fantastic! 9.5/10 (.5 percent taken away because of Minimal Violcence and No Gore)
