Storyline

A take on the classic tale "The Boy Who Cried Wolf", this is the story of a 14-year-old boy named Jason Shephard who lies for the fun of it. He leaves an important story assignment entitled "Big Fat Liar" in movie producer Marty Wolf's limo, which Marty then turns into a film. When Jason sees a movie preview of his story, he and his best friend, Kaylee, travel to Los Angeles to make Marty confess to using his story, to clear his name, and to get him out of having to attend summer school. Jason then has to match wits with Marty, who also turns out to be a big liar. Written by Anna <annachan@amazon.com>

Goofs

Jason liberally applies a super glue-type product to the earpiece of Marty's cell phone hands-free set. Any type of super glue product should dry pretty quickly after it's applied. MArty finished swimming and took a shower as well as freaked out when he saw himself. By the time he stuck the ear piece into his ear, the glue should have at least been tacky if not dry. It would have been "easily" removable. See more »

Quotes

Jason Sheperd: As much as I wanted to write my paper, I mean I really really wanted to write my paper I couldn't and it's because I spent all last night in Greenbury General Emergancy room. See, my mom made Swedish meatballs for dinner. It'd my dad's favorite and he was so excited he accidently swallowed one whole. It was awful. He started choking, his face turned purple. The meatball was litterly bulging out of his neck. We rushed to the ER. I kept trying to write my paper in the waiting room but it was too ...

boy cries wolf, wolf cries boy.

this is the greatest recreation of the class clown, underachiever -- I love my teacher but I hate school -- vein of great American storytelling. Not since "Our Gang" have we had a Spanky and Darla who have wreaked so much havoc on a hollywood studio. Proving himself to his dad, and that his dad's approval meant that much to him, makes this a must-see family film. Amanda Bynes is great as the puppy-love buddy of Frankie Muniz and Paul Giamatti is excellent as the villain.
