This series follows the adventures of Sherman Fangsworth, a teenager who is cursed with the ability to change into a werewolf at the sight of a full moon, even if it is only a picture of one. Together with his friends, they investigate various mysteries and crimes they encounter and find themselves facing dangers that require the power of Sherman's werewolf form as Fang-face to cope. Did You Know?

There were a number of "rules" regarding Fangface. First, any image of the moon would transform Fangs into Fangface and any image of the sun would change Fangface back to Fangs. When Fangface would emerge, his first instinct was normally to beat up Pugsey. He normally had to be reminded that Pugsey was his pal. If Fangface sees or hears the mention of food or any food item, he tries to eat Pugsey. If he actually succeeds in stuffing Pugsey in his mouth, Biff or Kim would have to rub his foot in order to get him to relax and cough up Pugsey. Finally, if Fangface sees his reflection in a mirror, he goes crazy with howling and barking. See more »

[Opening title narration]
Narrator: Fangface! Every 400 years, a baby werewolf is born into the Fangsworth family. And so when the moon shined on little Sherman Fangsworth, he changed into Fangface, a werewolf. Only the sun can change him back to normal. And so little Fangs grew up and teamed up with three daring teenagers: Kim, Biff, and Puggsy. And together they find danger, excitement, and adventure. Who can save the day? Who can wrong the rights, and right the wrongs? None other than Fangface!

an old-school cartoon with a old-school formula
8 November 1999 | by J-Star the Movie ManSee all my reviews

I remember watching this show as part of the Plastic Man show way back in the mid-80's as a little kid. If you've seen Scooby -Doo, then be prepared for yet another spinoff/takeoff of the show. In the "beloved pet/supersleuth" role, is Fangs, known as Fangface the Werewolf when he looks at the moon (he changes back when he looks at the sun, of course....and has no idea what happened.) In the "Shaggy/friend of pet sleuth" role is Pugs. The only thing missing is a Velma translation......maybe it's combined with the Daphne character in the female member of the group. Just another weak Scooby rip-off, avoid at all costs.
