Reverend General Lambros Dekavalas, with a brilliant and glorious past in battlefields, lives with his wife Irene and his daughter Popi on the brink of poverty, selling off what they have and does not have to pay for the Electric Company's account. One day the rich cousin Apostolos announces that his homeland will honor him with a statue that will stand in the square outside his home.
