DuckTales Season 2 Episode 18

DuckTalesis the best comedy on TV. I don’t care what anyone says, I don’t care what all the “best of” lists have. DuckTales is the best. No other show on TV has me laughing this consistently at just how outlandish it is.

The A plot of this episode, on paper, is Goldie and Louie teaming up to con gift bags from Doofus Drake. Simple enough, but it just keeps escalating further and further. Fake kids, robot bird sons, and encasing Goldie in glass. It says something that the B plot of Huey and Della playing video games (which includes Huey flying into a flaming fury) is just the episodes way of ramping itself down

DuckTales Season 2 Episode 13

Allow me to digress before we’ve even begun. As those who follow these reviews are probably aware, I’m not a hardcore DuckTales/Donald Duck/Scrooge McDuck fan. Sure I watched DuckTales as a kid and I’ve loved this new series, but there are some deep cut references in this show that just slip past me. I don’t devote too much time to them anyway because the show should be able to stand on its own even if you don’t get the references.

For the most part DuckTales has succeeded in that. Sure I’ve noticed when a deep cut reference passes by but it never makes me feel like I’m missing anything. Still, I’ve often wondered what it was like

‘American Idol’ Top 8 video recap: Who will rock Queen week and is this ‘the best season ever’? [Watch]

  • Gold Derby
“I don’t think either one of them appreciably stepped up their game,” says Gold Derby senior editor Susan Wloszczyna when reacting to the recent ousting of Dimitrius Graham and Uche on Season 17 of “American Idol.” She adds, “Dimitrius looked miserable! When you perform, you need to assume an emotion that is pleasant.” Wloszczyna joins fellow senior editor Marcus James Dixon and contributor Denton Davidson to discuss the recently revealed Top 8, the upcoming Queen music theme and whether or not judges Luke Bryan, Katy Perry and Lionel Richie have assembled the best group of contestants ever.

“Have you guys ever heard this ‘Goofy’ song before?” Dixon asks about Uche’s decision to sing “I 2 I” from “A Goofy Movie.” “He’s in the mentor session with Rebel [Wilson]; she had never heard it,” Dixon continues.

Need some fun after those harsh ‘Idol’ cuts? Watch the Top 10 play an emoji Disney song challenge [Video]
It is always sad to watch contenders dismissed at this point in “American Idol” since each person in the Top 10 is a talented individual. But after seeing each being saved by a judge last week, it felt more hurtful as Uche’, who perhaps should have picked a song from anything but “A Goofy Movie,” and Dimitrius Graham, who seemed to pin his hopes on that last note of “You’ll Be in My Heart,” were let go in the final seconds of Sunday’s show.

One can understand why Lionel Richie, Katy Perry and Luke Bryan would withhold saving them again, since they already gave them a second chance. But with such a top-notch Top 8, you could see why they wanted to keep the save in their pocket for later.

But the show provided a glimpse of Uche’ and Dimitrius in happier times as they join Alejandro Aranda, Laci Kaye Booth,

Uche really ‘Goof’ed up by singing a song no one had ever heard of during ‘American Idol’ Disney night [Watch]

The Disney songbook includes dozens, if not hundreds, of iconic tunes from the past eight decades. “I 2 I” from “A Goofy Movie” is not one of them. Unfortunately, Uche found this out the hard way during “American Idol’s” Disney night when he was eliminated following his performance of the song that judges Katy Perry, Lionel Richie and Luke Bryan and guest mentor Rebel Wilson had never heard of before. In other words, Uche really goofed up.

The writing was on the wall during Uche’s mentoring session with Rebel when she admitted, “I don’t think I’ve seen ‘A Goofy Movie.'” Uche joked that he “couldn’t be friends” with her because of that and pretended to walk away. Later on Rebel declared, “I think the song is a bit obscure, but I think if he brings the energy he should crush it.

Keanu Reeves and Alex Winter Announce Bill and Ted 3 in Excellent Video Message

The video kicks off with the two gathered at the Hollywood Bowl proclaiming that, together, they make up the band Wyld Stallyns. That alone is delightful.
