Character error

The comic book that Clarence shows Alabama is "Sleepwalker #8," and has nothing to do with a ring, a ship, or a man named Nick, which is the plot that Clarence explains to Alabama.

When Clarence and Alabama arrive in Los Angeles, we see them driving along the freeway with the Capitol Records building in the background and the sun low on the horizon, indicating that it is evening. However, a radio announcer is talking about it being morning.

Elliott calls Lee on his car phone on Sunday. Lee tells him he will meet Clarence about Doctor Zhivago at the Beverly Ambassador on Wednesday at 3:00. Elliott hangs up and says that Lee will meet them at 3:00, but he doesn't say what day.

When Alabama is being beaten up by Virgil, her face is bloodied early on. But when Virgil tosses her onto a half-wall and she slides across it, the blood vanishes from her face as she hits the wall (stunt double), and then reappears in the next shot.

When Alabama enters the theater where Clarence is watching The Street Fighter, you hear dialog that takes place in the first scene of that movie. Once she sits down and lights a cigarette it cuts to the screen and the movie is at the climax.

Errors in geography

The Safari Inn is portrayed as being near the intersection of Sunset and La Brea in Hollywood. In fact, it's a real hotel located approximately 6 miles away in Burbank, CA.

Alabama and Clarence go and have pie at Rae's Restaurant after the Kung Fu movie. The restaurant is at 2901 Pico Blvd in Santa Monica, CA, not Detroit where the scene is set.

In an establishing shot in front of the theater, supposedly in Detroit, where Clarence is watching Shin'ichi Chiba movies, there is a street sign in the background which clearly says "Hollywood Boulevard". The theater itself is Vista Theater, a legendary smaller theater in East Hollywood.

Factual errors

When Clarence shoots Drexl and Marty, he fires seven times without reloading. The gun he uses however, is a six shot Smith & Wesson Model 66 revolver.

When Clifford Worley is being roughed up by Coccotti and his boys, Clifford remarks [paraphrasing here] that "Italians are part ni*gers" and proceeds to explain how the Moors intermixed with the Italian people in the 14th century. Moors are a different race than Negroes (sometimes derisively called ni*gers). Moors inhabited north Africa and Iberia (present day Spain). The Negro races are originally from sub-Saharan Africa.

Incorrectly regarded as goofs

When Nicky Dimes and Nicholson are talking to their boss, Dimes says "So they bring the suspect to me and Nicholson, and we go to work on him". Nicholson interjects "...Nicholson and I," which is incorrect grammatically, but goes to establish the backwards intellectual pretentiousness of the character.

Revealing mistakes

When Clarence's father Clifford is shot in the head, in a brief close-up front view, a red splatter appears on his forehead but with no kind of wound visible.

Drexl's left eye is blind and seen without a pupil. After Clarence shoots him, and Drexl is covering his face with his hands, Clarence commands him to open his eyes. We then clearly see a pupil present in the supposedly blind eye.
