MPAA Rated R for violence and horror

Sex & Nudity

  • In the director's cut version Ash and Sheila have sex. She is naked and in top of him and her bare breasts can be seen. Then he begins to kiss her breasts while she is moaning and it cuts.
  • After the sex scene in the top of a tower Ash and Sheila kiss and hug.
  • A woman has her top ripped off is forced to kiss an undead character with a skinless face. The scene is not frightening as much as it is grotesque, no nudity is shown besides her back.
  • Some topless women are marched past the camera. Their areola are covered with their hair, but much of at least one breast is uncovered. Another woman's breast is seen at a distance from the side/behind, and one might assume that she is raped, since her top is forcibly removed. The entry above might be for a different version of the movie; I've heard there are several.

Violence & Gore

  • The film is notably less violent than its two predecesors.
  • Skeletons attacking a castle, they get chopped by Ash and his knights. Obviously no blood.
  • A man is pushed into a pit, and a ridiculous fountain of blood sprays out. Not disturbing at all, but funny.
  • Ash is trapped inside the pit with a deadite he gets beaten up by it a bit. Non-graphic.
  • As Ash is on the ground, skeleton hands come out and grab his legs and he falls. They grab his face and punch him. Hilariously cheesy scene, it will literally make you laugh.
  • Ash shoots a witch with a shotgun, there's no blood.
  • A man gets a cut down his cheek, little blood.
  • The whole movie is about fighting skeletons so there is hardly any blood or gore.

  • One Very Faint F-word, a couple S-words.
  • Almost all common profanity is used during the first 3/4 of the movie, like "hell," "ass" and "damn." Every other scene seemed to have at least one cuss word.

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • An object that is never shown follows Ash through the woods.
  • An army of skeletons and undead invades a castle.
  • A graveyard comes alive and many skeleton hands assault a man walking above.
  • A witch pretends to be dead. Suddenly, she wakes up surprisingly. This may be a jump scare.
  • Compared to the original 2 movies, "Army of Darkness" is easily the funniest one. And when it comes to the violence, it's really tame and mostly done for comedy.
