Storyline

The now legendary, almost mythical character of Indiana Jones once had a childhood. Every episode starts out with the elderly man that he is in the 1990's getting into a specific situation where he has to tell a story from his past. The stories go back to when he was ten years old and on a world tour with his father, and to his late-teens when he fought in World War I. Written by Steve Richer <sricher@sympatico.ca>

Trivia

Had the series been renewed for a third season, Young Indy would have been introduced to younger versions of characters from, or mentioned in, Raiders of the Lost Ark (1981): Abner Ravenwood ("Jerusalem, June 1909") and René Belloq ("Honduras, December 1920"). Other episodes would have filled in the blanks between existing ones ("Le Havre, June 1916", "Berlin, Late August, 1916"), and there would even have been some adventures starring a five-year-old Indy (Including "Princeton, May 1905"). Goofs

In close up shots of 9-year-old Henry Jr., you can clearly see that his actor, Corey Carrier, has deep brown eyes instead of Harrison Ford's trademark greenish-hazel eyes, or Sean Patrick Flannery's bright blue eyes. See more »

Quotes

Man: You boys look like you crawled through hell on your bellies.
Indiana Jones: We didn't crawl.

Alternate Versions

For the DVD box set release of the series, the framing sequences (starring George Hall as the extremely aged present day Indiana Jones) were removed and the title and credits changed to "The Adventures of Young Indiana Jones". See more »

User Reviews

An excellent series
12 March 1999 | by Breaker-4See all my reviews

Definitely one of the best series ever put out on TV. The historical intrigue was always interesting. Young Jones meeting Lawrence of Arabia, Picasso, and (my favorite) a very notable young Vietnamese revolutionary always kept your interest up. Plot lines, although sometimes a little trite, were usually well-done and faithful to history. Definitely a good successor to the movies with just enough action to boot.

Too bad it's not still on TV.
