Nick Nolte's character was previously played by GĂ©rard Depardieu. Depardieu also appeared in Boudu (2005), a remake of Boudu Saved from Drowning (1932), while Nolte appeared in Down and Out in Beverly Hills (1986), as the American version of Depardieu's character.
