Storyline

This movie reunites most of the members of the Cleaver clan, Wally, June, and of course, the Beaver. Their father Ward has passed away. Wally's married to Mary Ellen and a successful lawyer and has everything to make his life complete except for a child. The Beaver is married but unfortunately is still the same which is why his wife threw him out. With nowhere else to go, he goes home. And he also decides that he wants to raise his children, in his hometown of Mayfield. His wife, who decides that she hasn't done anything in her life, decides to become a veterinarian, but she can only go to school out of the country, so she let's Beaver have the children. So he brings his sons there and they are not exactly impressed with Mayfield and feel that they were dumped there, and bond more with Wally than with their own father. They also have to deal with Eddie Haskell, who has gone from nasty to crooked. It's a good thing they still have their mom. Written by rcs0411@yahoo.com

Trivia

As they were preparing to shoot Still the Beaver, the creators were trying to locate Rusty Stevens to reprise "Larry Mondello." They hired a detective to locate him. The detective found the right house and knocked on the door. Rusty's wife answered and the detective asked her if it was the residence of the former child star. She replied that he had the wrong house. Later, she told Rusty and he responded that the detective had the right house; apparently, he didn't tell his wife about his past life as Larry Mondello! Unfortunately for other cast members whom they wanted to reprise their roles, they were not so lucky. See more »

pretty bad stuff
21 February 2006 | by MartinHaferSee all my reviews

This is a fine example of the expression "you can never go back", as this reunion episode is just painful to watch and will most likely cause you to cringe in embarrassment. While not the worst TV reunion movie ever made (that would be the one for the Beverly Hillbillies), this is just boring and bad. Years have passed (thank goodness) since I saw it, but one particularly painful segment stands out clear in my traumatized mind. That is when June Cleaver talks to Ward about her concerns about her loser son, Beaver. You see her talking to Ward and as the camera pans back you see she's at the graveyard talking to Ward's tombstone!! Yech! What an embarrassingly bad moment. YES, Hugh Beaumont was dead so you can't blame him for not being in the film (unless you are a VERY SICK person), but replacing him with a headstone AND having his wife talk to it is just creepy! And, as I alluded to it, Beaver has grown into a pathetic mess whose wife just left him! I feel suicidal just thinking about this downbeat mess!
