Sam Costa, disc jockey, lying in bed operates the first push button hit parade in the history of science. This electronic device provides not only the performers, music, haggis, vitamin and pep pills but also a girl to go with them!
Casey Paxton, a hopeful rock and roll star, is trying to break into the business by going from studio to studio with his girlfriend and attempting to convince the radio and TV executives there to play his song. This story is mainly just a backdrop for the movie's real aim: the presentaion of about 20 different hit songs, performed by the artists themselves. Most of the acts are relatively unknown today, but a few moderately well-known singers, like Jackie and the Raindrops, and Freddie Cannon, are also featured.
