This unused scene, which cost $10 Million to shoot, would have been the opening to Bryan Singer's Superman Returns but the director chose to leave it on the cutting room floor.. "In the context of this movie where this movie needed to begin and what it needed to be about, I didn’t feel it. It’s just one of those things. No one told me to do it, to make these cuts. I had no time restrictions nor pressure whatsoever. I just felt the movie doesn’t need this, so I did something else instead." New images have been posted by Caped Wonder from the never-before-seen original opening to Superman Returns which features Kal El returning to his home world. Warner Home Video has announce the eight disc Superman: The Motion Picture Anthology set will hit stores in the U.S. on June 7th for $129.99. It will contain all six major motion picuture films as well as many other Superman-themed projects. Superman Anthology Blu-ray set announced

We heard in January that Warner Bros. would be releasing all the Superman films in the Blu-ray format (here), and the studio has now officially announced Superman Anthology for release on June 7th. The set will include Superman: The Movie, Superman II, Superman III, Superman IV: Quest For Peace, and Superman Returns in a an 8-disc set. The set will include the original and Richard Donner cut of Superman II, with the original film presented in both theatrical and extended editions.
