Skip the Johnny-come-lately Cameron weepie, get the straight scoop from a broad who's been there. I can't quite summon the words to describe it -- think of the best film you've ever seen x 10 - Saved from the Titanic has some of the same elements as that hypothetical masterpiece: editing, acting, direction, sets, drama, black, white, and/or sepia...the list of attributes goes on and on. And on.
Dorothy Gibson, as always, puts the "aye-aye" in eyewitness...if you follow. Is it just me or is this thing due for a Criterion release? My copy is in *seriously* bad shape lol. I've been meaning to trash the damn thing -- whether it's the pack rat in me or the fact that it's just THAT GOOD, something keeps me coming back. Oh what a picture!
