JJ Abrams Teases Palpatine’s Return in ‘Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker’
With less than two weeks to go before the release of “Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker” hits theaters, JJ Abrams, Daisy Ridley, Oscar Isaac, and John Boyega hit the main stage at Comic Con Experience Brazil in São Paulo on Saturday to talk about what Lucasfilm says is the final installment in the nine picture saga.

“On the dark side, I can’t wait for people to see the story, I think it’s the most intense story these characters have been through,” said Abrams. “On the light side, it’s the first time we see these group of characters have an adventure together.”

Abrams also talked about the return of Ian McDiarmid’s Emperor Palpatine and added, “That character, as you’ll see, he’s got such extraordinary power. I can’t wait for you to see how and why that character’s back and what it means for these characters.
