Emmy episode analysis: Rachel Brosnahan (‘The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel’) plays it blue in the Catskills
Winning an Emmy is no laughing matter, although “The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel” star Rachel Brosnahan certainly tries her best to make it one. Brosnahan has returned to the Best Comedy Actress race after winning the prize last year for playing Midge Maisel, a 1950s Manhattan housewife who decides to try her hand at stand-up comedy. It was one of eight prizes the Amazon series won overall, including Best Comedy Series.

For her episode submission, Brosnahan has chosen “Midnight at the Concord.” In this installment, Midge is vacationing with her family in the Catskills when she gets an opportunity to work the makeup counter at B. Altman. Desperate for a chance to redeem herself, she gets her soon-to-be boyfriend (Zachary Levi) to drive her back to the city.
