Director Patty Jenkins has made a three-year, $10 million deal with Netflix to create some new series for the streamer. The deal comes at a time that the director is finishing up her sequel to the 2017 film, Wonder Woman, which was the first female-directed film with a budget over $100 million, which paid off, as the film garnered critical and fan acclaim, as well as making over $800 million worldwide. The sequel is entitled Wonder Woman 1984, is highly anticipated by fans, and is set to hit theaters on June 5th, 2020.
Jenkins has had a great streak in the film business and has had directing credits on great series as well, such as Arrested Development, Entourage, and the mini-series I am the Night. This sounds like an exciting deal for Jenkins, as she has a keen eye for projects. Jenkins said in a statement:
