Marvel Fans Are Asking Robert Downey Jr. To Help Save Spider-Man

Ever since Tom Holland spread his (web) wings for Spider-Man: Homecoming, Peter Parker has gone on to forge a poignant friendship with Tony Stark – so much so, in fact, that it didn’t take long before Parker looked to Iron Man as something of a father figure.

Fast forward to 2019, though, and in the aftermath of Far From Home, Spidey’s future in the McU has been thrust into jeopardy following a profit-sharing dispute between Sony and Disney. Essentially, the latter media giant wants a bigger slice of the pie – up to 50 percent of film grosses, according to some outlets – which is a significant bump up from the original 5 percent. The current deal also includes Spider-Man merchandising.
