Could 4 supporting women of ‘Big Little Lies’ sweep the Emmys in 2020 like ‘Game of Thrones’ just did?
Big Little Lies” dominated the Emmys in 2017, winning eight prizes including Best Limited Series and all three acting categories it was eligible for — for lead Nicole Kidman and supporting actors Laura Dern and Alexander Skarsgard. But because it returned for a second season it will be classified as a drama series at the 2020 awards. Will it do just as well there as it did in limited series races? I think it could potentially earn four nominations for Best Drama Supporting Actress just like “Thrones” did this year.

Two supporting women were nominated for “Lies” in 2017: Dern and Shailene Woodley. They could both make the cut for Drama Supporting Actress next year, especially since “Thrones” will be out of the way, opening those four nomination slots back up. Meryl Streep could earn a nom too because, well, she’s Meryl Streep. And Zoe Kravitz could benefit from her expanded role in season two,
